Did you know that cherries are loaded with anti-inflammatory, anti-aging AND anticancer compounds? This smoothie provides a healthy dose of cherries plus the delicious antioxidant benefits of raw cacao powder.
Cacao beans are the original, unprocessed source of cocoa and chocolate and are considered a super food because of the incredible health benefits.
This smoothie is nutritious enough to eat for breakfast but delicious enough to eat for dessert!
- 1 C unsweetened almond or coconut milk
- 1 C pitted cherries (I use frozen organic dark sweet cherries from Costco)
- 2 TBSP raw cacao powder (I use Nativas Naturals certified organic cacao powder)
- 2-3 TBSP almond butter
- Handful of spinach
- Optional: 2 TBSP vanilla protein powder
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Top with cacao nibs, granola or your other favorite smoothie topping and ENJOY!
