Pumpkin Spice Latte Smoothie

Tis the season for pumpkin! If you are pumpkin lover like I am, this is a must try recipe for this holiday season. I want to thank my friend, Ashli, for sharing it with our Healthy Edge community!

If you have trouble drinking COLD smoothies during this time of the year, try this trick. I have a cup of hot water with my smoothie. I take a drink of my smoothie and then take a drink of the hot water. I just love my smoothies too much to give them up during the fall and winter months!

Ingredients:

1 cup almond or coconut milk

1/2 cup organic Greek Style yogurt or milk kefir

1/4 cup pumpkin puree

1 Tbsp. almond butter

1 Tbsp. ground chia seeds

1 tsp. blackstrap molasses (use up to 1 Tbsp depending on preference)

1 frozen banana, chopped

½ - 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice

**Blend all these wonderful ingredients together and enjoy!

 

Don’t have pumpkin spice? Make your own in less then five minutes!

Ingredients:

3 Tbsp ground cinnamon

2 tsp ground ginger

2 tsp ground nutmeg

1 ½ tsp ground allspice

1 ½ teaspoons ground cloves

**Mix the spices together in a small bowl and take a little whiff. Delish!
