Fall is my absolute favorite time of year! I just can’t get enough of the crisp air, the beautiful colors, crunchy leaves, and all the delicious flavors.
One of my all-time favorite fall flavor combos is apple cinnamon and my Autumn Apple Pie Smoothie recipe is a delicious and nutritious breakfast that you and your family will LOVE!
• 1 granny smith apple (or apple of your choice) cut into large chunks
• 3 TBSP walnuts
• ¼ avocado
• 1 ½ c almond milk
• 2 dates
• 1 tsp cinnamon
• 2 huge handfuls spinach
• 3 TBSP hemp seeds
• Blend all ingredients until smooth, top with a dash of cinnamon, and enjoy!
Cinnamon is great for helping to regulate blood sugar, and the avocado and walnuts add a creamy texture plus healthy fiber and fats. Also, with 10 grams of protein in just 3 tablespoons, hemp seeds give this smoothie a great protein kick.
To up the nutritional value, I LOAD my blender to the top with baby spinach leaves! The health benefits of spinach are many – from helping with bone and skin health to helping prevent cancer and lowering blood pressure. Best of all, you can’t taste it at all! Moms, if you are looking for a way to sneak more veggies into your kids' diets, this smoothie will definitely do the trick!
